Hydrogen Vessel with Automatic Power Management

Abstract

This project aims to design and test a functional, small-scale hybrid propulsion vessel utilizing DC motors, batteries, and hydrogen fuel cells. To maximize energy efficiency, the vessel uses an AI-controlled power management system where machine learning models make real-time decisions regarding power consumption based on sensor data. Sponsored by the Marine Safety Center, this capstone helps the Coast Guard prepare for regulating hydrogen-powered and AI-integrated vessels. It serves as a step forward in organizational understanding of emerging green technologies for future maritime officers.
