Abstract

Capt. High reviews several examples of disciplinary situations in his career that all officers and senior enlisted are apt to experience themselves - or something similar. He relates how he consistently handled each and, overall, had very few times in his career where a Captains Mast was necessary. RELATED REMARKS - Not too long ago, Les was asked, "Is good order and discipline a form of caring?" Les responded, " Absolutely, absolutely. I just think it's maybe the most basic element we have of caring. If we've got good order and discipline, they'll have very little trouble in the service. The guy that's always crowding the edge of the rules is going to always have a little problem. Good order and discipline works not only in the military, it works anywhere. The military has an advantage because it's a part of their lives starting with basic training, you know?
