Abstract
American ports face significant cyber threats via ZPMC Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, which utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for autonomous container identification and data entry. This project evaluates risks associated with "false data injection attacks" on these OCR data streams. The team is developing a virtual simulation to model data flow from optical detection to Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) algorithms. This study aims to demonstrate how compromised data can cause operational dysfunction and economic loss in critical port infrastructure.
